USDA programs that provide assistance in the wake of disasters include the Disaster Resource Center. The Disaster Resource Center website and web tool now provide an easy access point to find USDA disaster information and assistance. USDA also developed a disaster assistance discovery tool specifically targeted to rural and agricultural issues.

California

The California Cattlemen's Association has created a webpage with wildfire disaster assistance for cattle producers.

Idaho

The Idaho Cattle Association (ICA) is now accepting donations for their Wildfire Relief Fund, benefitting beef cattle producers affected by fires in Idaho this year. 

Applications are being accepted for relief funding if received by October 15, 2024. Qualifying entities or individuals include local associations or Idaho cattle producers, RFPAs, volunteer fire departments or organizations, individuals or others that provided assistance, resources or funds to fight 2024 wildfires that caused losses or threatened cattle producer’s livestock, property or resources.

Kansas

KLA and the Kansas Livestock Foundation will be assisting ranchers affected by fires and high winds across the state of Kansas. To provide monetary donations click the link below. Donations may be tax deductible and 100% of all donations will be distributed to producers impacted by the weather event.

Montana

The Montana Stockgrowers' Foundation accepts charitable donations for their Wildfire Relief Fund to provide assistance to Montana ranchers affected by wildfires. Current fundraising efforts and financial support is focused on relief for the Remington Fire in southeastern Montana. MSF is a a 501c(3) and all donations are tax deductible. A receipt confirming your donation will be provided to you.

New Mexico

New Mexico Cattle Growers' Association accepts donations to help producers affected by natural disasters such as wildfires, snowstorms and flooding. These donations help producers purchase feed and infrastructure during difficult circumstances.


North Dakota

The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) and North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation (NDSF) have teamed up to support cattle ranchers who suffered significant losses in wildfires in the northwest and other places across the state in fall 2024. As of Oct. 8, 2024, more than 88,000 acres had already burned, and several fires were still raging. Livestock industry losses include pasture, hay, stored feed, fences, buildings, farmsteads and livestock. 

The non-profit organizations are launching the Out of the Ashes Wildfire Disaster Relief Program. The NDSA and NDSF have kickstarted the relief fund with a $50,000 initial contribution and are inviting others to join them by contributing to the effort.
